Thimphu Tsechu in Thimphu & Thangbi Mani in Bumthang

The Thimphu Tsechu will be held in Tashi Chho Dzong in Thimphu. People from all the Western region come to see this 3 day festival dressed in their best Ghos and Kiras , a time to see the various textiles of Bhutan.
The Thangbi Mani festival will be held at Thangbi Lhakhang in Choskor Valley in Bumthang, The highlight of the festival is the first day of the festival where a Fire festival is performed , basically 2 large heaps of wheat stalk placed 1 meter apart is set on fire and local people run through the burning heaps, this action purifies your body and relieves your sins. An interesting festival and a great opportunity to meet the local people.
Day 1 : 26 Sept Wed
Arrive from Bangkok in Paro.
Day 2 : 27 Sept Thur
Sightseeing of Paro. Drive to Thimphu (2hrs).
Day 3 : 28 Sept Fri
Witness Thimphu Tsechu.
Day 4 : 29 Sept Sat
Witness Thimphu Tsechu, visit the weekend market and the archery ground.
Day 5 : 30 Sept Sun
To Bumthang (8-10 hrs) .
Day 6 : 1 Oct Mon
Bumthang sightseeing.
Day 7 : 2 Oct Tue : It will be a 20-minute walk to Thangbi Lhakhang. Entire day witness festival.
Day 8 : 3 Oct Wed
Bumthang sightseeing or you can continue for the second day of the festival.
Day 9 : 4 Oct Thur
Drive to Punakha Dzong ( 7 hours )
Day 10 : 5 Oct Fri : Drive to Thimphu via the Punakha Dzong
Day 11 : 6 Oct Sat : Drive to Paro. Sightseeing in Paro
Day 12 : 7 Oct Sun : Excursion to Taktsang Monastery
Day 13 : 8 Oct Mon : Depart to Bangkok/Delhi
